a story, a joke, a mist of song.

words that warmed my coldest days.

screaming sirens, then the silence.

your gentle calm covered me

as the dark of night slipped away.

through years and miles, distant calls

your voice, my smile, a moment held.

as your ageless face slowly aged

and jet black hair went to gray.

forgotten dreams, my nameless face

your memories so long erased.
